Strawberry Freezing Party

What?
Want to put up strawberries so you can have some in the winter? Enjoy the company of others while you preserve food? This strawberry freezing party allows folks to join together to put up the harvest in the Incubator Kitchen. We are coordinating with Bernie Sandee Ware of the Ware Farm out of Bear Lake to have flats of their certfied organic strawberries for registered participants. You can also buy your own strawberries during our farrmers market -whicch runs this same day, Monday, June 19, from 3pm to 7pm. may also bring your own strawberries.

Cost?
As many flats you want ($46 a flat) + $5.

We are planning such food preservation parties for other crops later in the season as well. This way you don’t have to do all the cleaning and set-up by yourself! No experience necessary. Instruction for those interested will be provided. Bring the style of plastic bags you prefer. We will also have some available for those who forget:)

Who?
Everyone!

Registration?
Register with the number of flats you want by June 17. Note: if you don’t pre-register, you are still most welcome to come! There will be strawberries at the market on June 19 that you can buy and join in the fun! Signing up by June 17 just guarantees that a flat of organic berries will be reserved for you!

When?
Monday, June 19, 6:30 to 8pm (Come early to have dinner with the Grill Benzie Food Truck at the Farmers Market!) Also-feel free to shop the market before the freezing party. You are welcome to put your purchases in our refridgerator while you attend class!
