The Benzie County Days For Girls team is hosting a meet & greet potluck for the community to learn more about the international program that creates reusable feminine hygiene kits in Grow Benzie's Sewing Studio. The evening will include demonstrations, studio tours, discussion and stories with the team, and volunteer recognition. Attendees will learn more about opportunities to volunteer and what donations the Days For Girls team is looking for. Please bring a dish to pass at the potluck, but don't worry if you can't- there's always enough food.
Benzie County's Days For Girls started when Kathy Ross hosted an informational meeting in September of 2016 at Grow Benzie. Since then, she has trained over a dozen other organizations from around the state and leads 20+ volunteers who have created and sent nearly 800 kits to girls and women abroad and in the US. Days for Girls International is a grassroots 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides sustainable and effective feminine hygiene solutions to girls and women worldwide. Days for Girls seeks to create a more dignified, humane, and sustainable world for girls through advocacy, reproductive health awareness, education, and sustainable hygiene- because no woman should go without access to quality sanitary hygiene. Tens of thousands of volunteers and important partners work together to ensure access to culturally, physically, and environmentally appropriate hygiene solutions around the globe.
