June 11 Special Event: Asparagus Pickling Workshop.
The market will offer seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and local foods. Our Grill Benzie Food Truck will be there selling fresh food with ingredients grown onsite or sourced locally. We will also be offering free daily nutrition and culinary demonstrations at 3:30 and 5:00, open to the public. You can also take this time to grab your family and walk our edible trail system that lines the property or play through our edible mini golf course!
Today's special class is Asparagus Pickling. Learn how to make your own pickled asparagus and take a jar home with you! Christina Ryan-Stoltz will lead this popular workshop. This workshop will take place in the Studio House kitchen, located next door to the event center. 5-6pm. $7, includes a jar of pickled asparagus!
Christina Ryan-Stoltz calls herself a kitchen witch. Combining a vast background in healing, nutrition, herbalism & folklore with a deep love for garden gourmet and locally grown/raised foods, Christina’s superpower is her palette and she infuses her classes (and her food) with a dash of whimsy, a sprinkle of nostalgia, and a heap of love.
Her sidekick sister and #1 fan Jenn Ryan is a sponge for learning new stuff but taught Christina most of what she knows.
