August 13 Special Events:
*** Birding Walk***
***Make Your Own Leathercraft Bracelet Workshop
The farmers market will offer seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and local foods. Our Grill Benzie Food Truck will be there selling fresh food with ingredients grown onsite or sourced locally. We will also be offering free daily nutrition and culinary demonstrations at 3:30 and 5:00, open to the public. You can also take this time to grab your family and walk our edible trail system that lines the property or play through our edible mini golf course!
Join Doug Cook of the Benzie Audubon Club for a brief lecture and a birding walk around Grow Benzie’s campus. Attendees will take away a better appreciation for how birds fit into and help create a healthy environment, how to identify common birds by both sight and sound, and where to look for specific species of interest. This event will take place from 4:30-6pm and is free. Donations welcome. All interested are encouraged to attend. The event will begin at the gazebo at Grow Benzie’s entrance, weather permitting. Back-up location is inside the event center. Due to the nature of birds, we can not guarantee what birds will be available for viewing during the event. Regardless, you will be able to apply what you learn to wherever and whenever you see birds in the future.
